What do I need to use MoveIt!?
A Mac running macOS 26 and an iPhone running iOS 26, both signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud on. An Apple Watch running watchOS 26 is optional.
Where is MoveIt! on my Mac?
MoveIt! lives in the menu bar, not the Dock. Click its icon in the menu bar to see your time, start a break early, or open Settings. If you don't see it, open MoveIt! from your Applications folder or with Spotlight.
How do I unlock my Mac during a break?
Choose Move It! on your Mac, then pick an activity on your iPhone or Apple Watch: walking, a workout, or just moving. When you reach the goal, your Mac unlocks automatically.
What if I really can't take a break right now?
Choose Skip It. You can skip this break or put it off for a few minutes. Skipping takes an extra step on purpose, so it's always a decision and never an accident.
My iPhone or Apple Watch didn't get the break.
Breaks travel through iCloud, so check that:
- Your Mac and iPhone are signed in to the same Apple Account, with iCloud turned on.
- Both devices are online.
- Notifications are allowed for MoveIt! on your iPhone (Settings > Notifications > MoveIt!).
- MoveIt! has been opened at least once on your iPhone since it was installed.
My steps aren't counting.
Make sure MoveIt! has permission to read steps, workouts, and active energy in the Health app (Health > your profile > Apps > MoveIt!), and Motion & Fitness access in Settings > Privacy & Security. Keep your iPhone with you while you walk, or wear your Apple Watch.
Will MoveIt! interrupt my meetings?
Not if you turn on calendar pause in MoveIt!'s Settings on your Mac. While your calendar shows you're in a meeting, the break waits.
Does MoveIt! collect my health data?
No. Health data is read on your devices only to check your break goal, and never sent to us. See the privacy policy.
